Demonstrating continual innovation in the natural ingredient sector, NE stands alone in their own category, assisting brands to build natural heroes and new product concepts, driving conscious manufacturing practices, and connecting brands to growers. Understanding that it is not enough to be “natural,” NE delivers trust through their ingredients and a transformative purpose. Collaboration with NE brings the brand closer to science and nature’s brilliant design, exploring new species and new heroes for first to market stories. Working with brands and their contract manufactures’ R&D division, NE shares their network of growers, leverages their teams’ wide depth of extraction expertise, encompassing Cellular Extraction™, distillation for new essential oils, creation of new oil-soluble ingredients, and the latest in nutrient-dense, highly concentrated liquids to support ingestible product development. Innovation and disruption is at NE’s core. In 2013, NE launched an unprecedented library of Australian Native plant profiles that created a new palette of tools to create the A-beauty trend, evolving the botanical extract from past maceration/percolation and synthetic standardised extracts – highlighting the importance of the entourage. Since 2016, NE further innovated protocols, continuing to push technologies and create new ones.
Cellular Extraction Means True to Nature
“We focus on continuous improvement audits, strict quality controls combined with conscious manufacturing processes to ensure our clients receive a quality, fresh ingredient to drive sustainable innovation. Our biomass, energy and resource efficient processes attribute to reducing risk of overharvesting, minimizes waste, incorporates composting and repurposing unused plant parts for other ingredients, and we recycle packaging.”
- Lisa Carroll Owner and Director, NATIVE EXTRACTS Pty Ltd .
Recognising the threat of commercial, mono-culture crops, pesticides, genetic modification, etc. to our planet, brands are stepping in to expand local growers’ opportunities, partnering with both large commercial and small scale growers, and Indigenous growers – looking to re-purpose harvest waste and by-products for valuable phyto-compounds, nutrition and solutions to health/wellness etc.
Protecting Plant Species - Cellular Extraction uses less biomass than typical maceration/percolation processes, reducing risk of over harvesting species, including our hand-picked wild-harvested crops
• Flexible Concentration Options minimize packaging, storage and freightrelated CO2 emissions
Energy and Biomass-Efficient extraction methods have an accelerated processing time, using extreme pressure and static cycles, reducing the energy needed for extraction and less plant material to create superior extracts
• Throughout our manufacturing we use filtered, deionized and purified rainharvested water, reducing the use of public supply by >1000L/day • Our factory recycles and composts, operating at a Household Standard Waste Collection. Extract by-products are clean, biodegradable, and composted or sorted for collection
• Prioritising sourcing sustainable, wild-harvested, and/or organically grown botanicals
• Up-cycling surplus produce to reduce growers’ waste streams and extend crop values – never more than 10% of a crop is harvested for our extracts
•Manufactured to order for custom work and bulk supply means extracts are as fresh as possible to extend shelf stability and prevent waste
• Looking ahead to go Off Grid with solar panels. We are also committing to using at least 80% recyclable or bio-degradable, ocean-safe packaging by 2022
